I have spent more than 25 years working in financial services, estate planning, small business advice and inheritance tax planning, and I founded Together We Plan to make Will planning feel simpler, clearer and more approachable for people who aren't quite sure where to start.
As a married father of two (three if you count our working cocker spaniel!), I understand that family is usually the reason people decide to put plans in place. Most of us simply want the reassurance of knowing that the people we care about will be looked after and that life will be as straightforward as possible for those we leave behind.
That's why my approach has always been to focus on understanding what matters to you before discussing solutions. I believe good estate planning starts with a conversation, not a sales pitch. Together, we'll explore your circumstances, your wishes and any concerns you may have, before deciding what planning, if any, is appropriate for you and your family.
We are based in Tavistock and work with individuals and families across Plymouth, Saltash, Okehampton, Launceston, Liskeard, Callington, Torpoint and the wider Devon and Cornwall area. Drawing on my experience in financial and estate planning, I aim to make the process feel calm, straightforward and easy to understand, without unnecessary complexity or pressure.
Quite simply, I want to help you find the planning that is right for you, your family and your budget.
About Estate Planning - My view has always been that, if we get things done properly at the start, your Will or other planning shouldn't need constant updating every time life changes.
A well-drafted Will should be flexible enough to adapt to most changes in circumstances and wishes as the years go by. In many cases, it will only need reviewing if there is a major change in your personal or financial situation.
Our role is to help you put the planning in place that you feel comfortable with.
We'll take the time to understand what matters to you, what you would like to happen when you're no longer here, and whether you have any concerns about how your assets might be managed or passed on in the future. There is no confusing legal jargon and no pressure, just a straightforward conversation about your wishes and the people who matter most to you.
Once you're comfortable with the decisions you've made, we'll prepare the documents you need, explain everything clearly, and make sure you know exactly how to sign and complete them correctly.
Most importantly, we want you to come away feeling confident that everything has been properly considered, that your wishes have been clearly documented, and that the people you care about will have clear guidance when they need it most.
